Objective

Configure your property management company profile — including legal entity name, management fee percentage, and contact information — so Valix can generate accurate owner statements, 1099s, and billing invoices.

Prerequisites

  • You must be signed in as a Manager or Admin
  • Your account onboarding must be complete (password set)
  • Have your company's legal name, EIN/Tax ID, address, and default management fee percentage ready

Step-by-Step Instructions

    After your first login, Valix may automatically redirect you to the Onboarding Wizard. If not, navigate to Settings from the left sidebar.

    In the Company Profile section, fill in the following fields:

    Complete all company details:

    • Company Name: Your legal entity name (e.g., "Stellar Property Management LLC").
    • EIN / Tax ID: Required for 1099 generation. Enter your 9-digit federal EIN.
    • Address, City, State, Zip: Your business mailing address.
    • Phone: Primary business phone number.
    • Default Management Fee (%): The percentage charged on collected rent (e.g., 8.0 = 8%). This applies to all new properties unless overridden at the property level.

    Click Save to update your company profile.

    Your Organization ID (e.g., ORG-100001) is displayed on the Settings → Subscription page. Use this ID when contacting Valix support or referencing your account on invoices.

Troubleshooting Tips

Pro Tip:Set a conservative default management fee (e.g., 8%) during onboarding. You can override it per-property later from the property's Edit modal.
Note:The EIN/Tax ID is used to populate the 'Payer' section on 1099-NEC forms. If you manage properties under multiple LLCs, you'll need separate Valix company accounts for each legal entity.
Note:Your Organization ID (ORG-XXXXXX) is permanently assigned and cannot be changed. It appears on all Stripe invoices and support tickets.
